I help people with Mac computers.  I worked at the University of Minnesota for 37 years at KUOM radio. For the last 15 years or so, the station had Macs while all the rest of our College had PCs. That meant I was the Mac support person. 

I have personally owned Macs since 1985 and have been our household techie. We currently have two MacBooks, an iMac, two iPhones and an iPad. I have owned at least six Macs over the years and have always done my own maintenance, repairs and upgrades.

I help people select hardware and software, do set-up and install, and help troubleshoot problems. In addition to computers and software, I also do home networks, printers, etc. Plus I build databases for folks, and, occasionally, websites. I also will specify and upgrade RAM and hard drives. Other than those two things, I don't dig around inside computers. I leave that for the genius bar guys.

My charge for a home visit is $50 per hour, with a half-hour minimum. I prefer to work Monday through Friday, but can come on a weekend in an emergency.
